START RIGHT (by Recommitting your Relationship to God)

“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement.”― St. Augustine

“Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.” – Isaiah 55:6

We, humans, are such a unique being that among all creations we are highly able of creating and doing anything we are capable of thinking. Because of our ingenuity, distance and time no longer impede communication even in remote places. Throughout the time, we have discovered and conquered great feats. And up until now, we still continue to reach and desire for more insurmountable accomplishments. Nevertheless, we can never deny to ourselves that the reason to all of these triumphs and the search for more is the fact that we are essentially looking for our true purpose and meaning in life. The fact is that despite of any man’s success on the outside, there’s always that feeling of emptiness inside. Emptiness that nothing and nobody could ever fill but God.

Completeness and true meaning can never be found anywhere else or can be given by anyone else in this planet. This world can only give shallow substitutes of the real thing. And it is the real thing that we certainly need, which is given only by the One who created the heavens and the earth and all living creatures in it, God.

It is wonderful to have goals and seek for further success this year. But more than any of those seek for a deeper relationship with God. Make your relationship with Him your utmost priority.

David who was a warrior and a King understood this that’s why he was able to sing, ‘One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.’ Psalm 27:1-4

What should be the focus of our seeking? Like David, it should be an intimate relationship with the Lord.

It is not that complicated, just connect and communicate.

Draw us closer and closer to you, oh God! We seek nothing but this.
